10,000 Private Investigators Working in Britain Without Licensing or Regulation. Is This Right or Wrong?

It is estimated that there are about 10,000 private investigators working in the UK, with the majority of these trading as one man bands from home. Currently anyone in the UK can open a business and trade as a ‘professional private investigator’, without the need of taking any competence based  exams, being vetted or obtaining a license

Rebekah Brooks Admits to Using Private Investigators But for ‘Purely Legitimate’ Reasons.

Rebekah Brooks admitted yesterday whilst giving evidence to MP’s that she did use private detectives during her time as Editior of the New of the World, the Sunday tabloid which has now been shut down by the Murdochs. She did stress that whilst she used private investigators it was always for ‘purely legitimate’ reasons, such as tracing conviceted paedophiles.

Phone Hacking Scandal Continues

Senior politicians have contacted the police after a private detective was accused of targeting famous people for a specific newspaper in Parliament. Lord Mandelson and Jack Straw have requested information form Scotland Yard regarding information they have on private investigator Jonathan Rees who worked for the News of the World.

FIFA Hire Private Investigators

FIFA’s Ethic Committee have hired Private Detectives to interview the Caribbean federations heavily involved in the current scandal. It has been reported that 18 of the 25 associations have said they will not be attending the summons in Miami, Florida. The Investigation is based on claims that the 25 members of the Caribbean Football Union have made.
